  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  8. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, followed by basil leaves, oregano, and black pepper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
